The Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario will convene
the fourth annual PhD Sustainability Academy in London, Ontario November 17-22, 2011. Co-sponsored by ARCS, the event includes paper development workshops, seminars, guest speakers, fireside chats, and local trips. Details on the 2008-2010 PhD Sustainability Academies are available here.
This year's theme is Passion and Compassion for Sustainability, which will explore: theorizing, researching and teaching sustainability with passion and compassion; new constructs and processes that can bring about positive change in business and society; and new methods for studying sustainability in positively deviant organizations and/or under extreme adversity. Learn more about the guest faculty and review the Call for Papers here.
All submissions will be evaluated through a double-blind review process. The selection committee includes both ARCS and PhD Sustainability Academy Faculty. The Network for Business Sustainability sponsors a Best Paper Award and a $500 cash prize.
